AACA is the national voice for architect registration boards around Australia. AACA owns the National Standard of Competency for Architects. The National Standard underpins all assessment processes including the accreditation of architecture programs leading to registration as an architect in Australia.

The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) is an Australian, not-for-profit organisation formed in 1995. They offer networking activities and mentoring programs for members.

The Australian Institute of Architects and its members are dedicated to improving our built environment and the communities we call home by promoting quality, responsible, sustainable design and advocating on behalf of the profession for the benefit of all Australians.

Members have access to the Acumen Practice Notes, which explains all aspects of practicing Architecture in Australia,  networking activities and resources.

The Association of Consulting Architects leads the discussion on business and employment matters in Australian architecture providing timely advice, information and resources; promote debate and advocate for better business practices and legislative frameworks.

Parlour is a research-based advocacy organisation working to improve gender equity in architecture and the built environment professions.

Fair Work Ombudsman protects workers in Australia. Here you will find the minimum payments and entitlements you have as an employee of an Architect.

Note that this award only protects Architects, Architectural Graduates and Architecture Students. It doesn´t cover draughtspersons and designers.

Each state and territory of Australia has its own Architect Registration Board established under legislation to register architects, conduct disciplinary investigations, pursue unregistered use of the term architect, accredit programs of study and educate the public on architectural issues.

 

The Boards have a responsibility to the public, users of architectural services, the built environment industry, and Architects who employ graduates.
